On August 28th, 2010, Larry Lee, the president of USCF, attended Changchun Movie Festival which is co-hosted by State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, Jilin People’s Government and Changchun Municipal Government every two years. The slogan of this Changchun Movie Festival is “Movie sets up the stage, trade do the performance”, which combines the movie, culture, economy, trade, science & technology and tourism together in its content, emphasizes the spread of the current main theme through art, and seeks “the popularization of movie culture, the excellent harvest of trade activities”, “the high quality, the great benefits and the deep influence”. This festival was splendid with many stars; many famous film stars were present in this grand meeting, like Zhao Wei, Tang Guoqiang, Miao Pu and Liu Yifei and so on. Larry Lee had a kind talk and took photos with Tang Guoqiang, Li Qiankuan, the chairman of Film Association, and Tong Gang, the general director of State Film Bureau. They all hoped USCF to make contributions to the cooperation between China and US in the movie industry to have a win-win cooperation. During the festival in Chang Chun, Larry Lee had met his good friend Cui Jie, the mayor of Changchun city.
The 2010 Northeast Asia Development Forum, which focuses on “New Economy, New Cooperation, and New Development”, had a grand opening ceremony in Shenyang Huangchao Wanxin International Hotel on the morning of August 30th. The highest four officials of Shenyang, Zeng Wei, the municipal party secretary, Chen Haibo, the mayor, Zhao Changyi, the director of the national people’s congress and Liu Yaqin, the chairman of Political Consultative Conference, attended the dinner before the ceremony. There were thousands of distinguished guests who come from Russia, Korea, Japan, Mongolia, North Korea, China and other regions attending the dinner. Yan Junqi, the vice chairman of Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, Chen Zhenggao, the governor of Liaoning province, Han Seung-soo, the former premier of Korea and Chang Wu Buqin, the former secretary of Japan Liberal Democratic Party all attended the opening ceremony of this forum.
This forum which kept on the combination between theme meeting and investment, the combination between exhibition marketing and friendly communication, aimed to establish a platform of communication and cooperation for every country in Northeast Asia and other relative countries or regions, to promote the optimizing configuration of bilateral and multi-lateral economy and resources, to deepen the cooperation of economy and trade, boost the coordinated growth, strengthen the harmonious relationship in the process of seeking growth and development, build up a regional cooperative mechanism which is suitable for the region’s reality, get the common prosperity of Northeast Asia region, speed up the overall revitalization of northeast old industrial bases in Liaoning and the swift development of Shenyang economical society.
Larry Lee, Ben Shenglin, the bank business supervisor in China region of JPMorgan Chase & Co, Zhang Tianwei, the director of JPMorgan Chase & Co of Investment in China, who was invited by USCF, all attended this forum. On August 31st, director Zhang delivered a speech which topic is “The important power for developing the new industry-Private placement capital”. In his speech, he introduced the industrial development and evolution which are promoted by innovation, and made it clear that features of high risks of new industry. He put forward the opinion of encouraging and protecting the entrepreneurship, and looked ahead at the prospect of new industrial development.
After a long expectation, the “Red Bull Lang Lang Shenyang Concert” finally presented in Shenyang at the end of August. On August 27th, Lang Lang was back to Shenyang and had a press conference in Shenyang Guest House; he received the official letter of appointment and became the first “Image Ambassador for Shenyang”.
On August 29th, Larry Lee attended at Lang Lang concert. During the concert, Lang Lang selected eight world-famous piano pieces for this important performance when he came back home five years later. Besides that, Lang Lang to play the Military March with young pianists and performed the Horse Race and Shengyang A Shenyang with Zhao Benshan. After that, Zhao Benshan said,” Time is up, we have to stop here”.
Lang Lang played the third movement of Sergey Prokofiev’s Sonata for War because of the demand of audience. Everyone was getting very excited while listening to the rhythm filled with passion and inspiration which expressed the soul-stirring and heart shaking musical notes.
President of USCF, Larry lee, was present at the banquet after the concert, together with Lang Lang’s agent Mr. Li Ning and Lang Lang’s parents and relatives. The concert concluded in a very pleasant atmosphere.
