News Letter of USCF for March 2008

1,On March 2,2008, Larry Lee, president of USCF, flew to US. During Larry's stay in Houston, Larry Lee met with former consul general of Chinese Consulate in Houston, senior artistic advisor of USCF, Mr. Hua Jin Zhou and enjoyed photographs taken by Hua Jin Zhou. Currently, USCF was planning Mr. Hua Jin Zhou’s photography exhibition entitled the “Light” and “Shade” in the eyes of a diplomat.

Hua Jin Zhou was born in Jiangsu province, China, a member of China's Photographer Association and a professional diplomat. He used to be Chinese Cultural Consul and secretary of Chinese Consulate in India, Sri Lanka and Canada; Cultural attaché of Chinese Embassy in UK; Consul General of Chinese Consulate in Thailand and Houston.

Mr. Hua Jinzhou loves life, nature, photography and music. He has very good taste in art.

He pursues perfection, elegancy, liveliness, forcefulness and philosophy of photography work; combines western culture with Chinese culture, traditional artistic form with modern artistic form. He won many prizes in photography from home and abroad. 

His name was listed in the collection of well-known China's photographers, International professionals in US and well-known Chinese worldwide.

Mr. Hua Jinzhou has lots of hobbies and is good at composing music as well as being able to play many musical instruments. His musical work entitled “The Hearts of Overseas Compatriots” was offered to Chinese Alumni Association in Houston in 2005. 

In 2006, he composed the music “China is my motherland for ever”, with two editions of solo and mixed chorus, expressing the deep love of overseas compatriots for motherland and homeland.

2, Larry Lee, president of USCF, met with well-known Chinese American, the former Washington State Governor (two terms, eight years) Gary Locke; former councilor of Houston TX, Mr. Gordon Guan Jinpeng (co-Chairman of the election committee for Hillary Clinton); chairman of Asian Americans for Hillary Clinton and an important member of USCF, Ms Ling Luo; chief editor of US-Sino News, Mr. Lao Jing in Texas on the 3rd of March. 

3, Mr. Larry Lee, the President of USCF, visited Neuisys - the exclusive distributor of Neusoft Medical in USA - located in Greensboro North Carolina .Mr. Lee was invited for a diner tonight in Greensboro by Mr. Kim Russell, the CEO of Neuisys on the 10th of March. Mr. Russell informed Larry that the sales of the company in the 2008 so far has been very exciting since we just placed several new orders of CT scanners and MRI. And, Neuisys is developing the new business niche in the US markets for Neusoft products. The forth coming 16 row CT and 1.5T MRI, which have been scheduled for the year of 2008, would be very significant for Neusoft's products in US market. The following day, the 11th, there would be a formal business meeting at the Neuisys 's head quarter in Greensboro. Dr. Joe Jenkins, the CMO (Chief Medical Officer) of the USA based company, would join Larry and Kim for a formal business meeting.

4, The organizing committee of International Travel and Culture Forum ( with the theme of travel between China and America), planned and co-organized by US-China Foundation, Culture and Communication Department of Hainan Province and Hainan Travel Corp, has been set up recently. On March 16, USCF has sent a working team into Hainan to start work for this forum on the following day. Larry Lee, president of USCF also flew to Hainan to inspect the work of preparing this forum at the end of March. This forum would be scheduled to be held on June 6. As one key program of series of cultural events celebrating the 20th anniversary of the founding of Hainan province, this forum attracted the attention from government and enterprises from the very beginning of planning this forum.

5,A preparatory office for USCF LA branch office has been set up officially. A formal and official ceremony for the grand opening of this branch office would be held two months later. A well-known business leader and social campaigner, Jeanie Zuo, acted as the head of USCF LA branch office.

6, on March 17, Larry Lee, president of USCF met with Mr. Xie Yining, USCF's strategic partner, chairman of well-known Oversea Chinese Press, a leading Chinese News Papers in the US and Ms. Yin Shulan, director of the Center for China’s Culture Development based in LA. The two parties exchanged opinions on major events to be organized by USCF in 2008.

On March 17, Larry Lee, president of USCF, met with Mr. Wu Xiaoyong, president of well-known North America-based Phoenix TV Station in Los Angeles. Both parties had through discussions on the International Travel and Culture Forum( with the theme of travel between China and America)co-organized in June this year by USCF and North America-based Phoenix TV Station. Ms. Zeng, senior founder and vice president of North America-based Phoenix TV Station was also present at this meeting. During Larry’s stay in LA, Mr. Wu Xiaoyong and his wife had a dinner together with Larry Lee; Liu Xiaoming, manager general of the based-in North America branch company of Neusoft group, visited Larry Lee at the hotel where Larry stayed.


7, The China International Travel and Culture Forum (with the theme of travel between China and America) co-organized by USCF and Hainan Travel Co., sponsored by Sino-US Consultancy and International Branch of Hainan Travel Co. officially started its preparation work in late March in order to mark the 20th anniversary of founding of Hainan province; showcase the most brilliant brand of travel culture in Hainan province. This forum would be scheduled to be held on June 6, with the theme of “Harmony and Friendship”---building a bridge of promoting travel and culture exchange between China and America.

The year of 2008 would see Beijing Olympics; it is in the year of 2008 that America became the travel destination country of China for the first time. This opportunity from outside China would enhance the bilateral exchange between China and America in areas of travel, culture, trade and investment sectors.

Hainan is the largest province in travel and has abundant travel resources. Hainan Travel Co. would work together with USCF to co-organize this forum to build a platform for exchanging information on travel industry; expend the channel in travel exchange programs between China and America; reap the rewards produced by the globalization of travel industry. This forum would be meaningful and influential.

On the evening of March 31, 2008, an award ceremony for superb models in China was held in Beijing. Artistic supervisor of USCF, Ms. Julia Zhu,and former consul general of Chinese Consulate in Houston, senior artistic supervisor, Mr. Hua Jinzhou were invited to attend this event.

Julia Zhu sang the song” It is nice to get home” at the scene of this ceremony. Well-known Chinese models, Chen Juanhong, Mo Wandan and well-known make-up artist and others won the 2007 Year Award of model industry. The awards such as the award of influential model, the award of most influential, new good-looking models and the award of 
most influential fashion designer, etc, were granted at this ceremony.
