News Letter of USCF for July, 2005

All projects have been carried out smoothly this month. Staff of the USCF have summed up their jobs within the last half year and worked out the plans for the following half year. We believe that the undertakings of USCF will be richer and more colorful.
On July 9-12, 2005, Dr. Gene Grace, Medical Advisor of USCF, US eye disease expert and Su Ning, chief representative of USCF Shenyang Office came to Kazuo County, Liaoning Province to give a three-day charity screening program for local eye disease patients. Dr. Gene Grace, aged 78, screened and diagnosed hundreds of local eye disease patients within three days in the hot weather. Local doctors, nurses and patients were moved deeply by Dr. Grace’s medical skill and ethics and his deep love toward the ordinary Chinese. They called Dr. Grace temporary Dr. Bethune, because Dr. Grace is much like Dr. Bethune in appearance and quality. Dr. Grace modestly replied that Dr. Bethune died for China; I just do my part for the Chinese people.

On July 12, 2005, the Organizing Committee of 2005 Chinese Model Contest signed a contract with a company from Hai Nan province. Larry Li, the president of USCF and the executive chairman of the organizing committee, along with other leaders flew to HaiNan to get more details. Based on relations with USCF, the final competition of 2005 Chinese Model Contest will take place in the capital city of HaiNan province, HaiKou. The government and many enterprises of HaiNan have paid much attention to this contest.

On July 15,2005, the press conference of 2005 Chinese Model Contest was held at Chang’An Club. More than 80 media representative took part in it. The leaders from government, representatives from the city of the final contest, members of the organizing committee of 2005 Chinese Model Contest and many VIPs attended this conference. Qiu Chengyun, senior advisor of USCF, former Chinese Consul General in New York also took part in the conference and was pleased to be appointed as the senior adviser of the Organizing Committee of 2005 Chinese Model Contest. Ms. Kristen Scott, the adviser of USCF, former governor of UN, was appointed to be the Foreign Affairs Adviser of the organizing committee of the 2005 Chinese Model Contest. Super model Ms. Wang Min was appointed to be the Image Person of 2005 Chinese Model Contest。

On July 15,The Culture and Art Director of USCF Li Yanxin held a conversation with the president of the National city Bank of New York, Beijing Branch Bank, Mr. Xia Songping to discuss the cooperation between the two sides.


On July 18, Larry Lee, president of USCF and Dai Tongde, special assistant to the president, attended the opening of 2005 American Culture Village Summer Camp . Under the coordination of USCF, the camp was held by Beijing-U.S.A. College of English and the Association of US-Sino Communication. At the ceremony, President Lee met with Professor Liu Kan, director of China Media Research Institute of Duke University and Wu Weiqian, dean of Beijing-U.S.A. College of English. They had a warm discussion. After the opening ceremon, President Lee took a photo as a souvenir with the teachers and students of the camp.

On July 19,The Culture and Art Director of USCF Li Yanxin and the CEO of the United Business Club, Ms. Huang Yumin reached a prime agreement for the cooperation of the Sino-US investment and real estate forum. The two will hold further discussions in the future.

On July 20, by the authorization of Duke University in the U.S., the USCF took the post of coordinating and liaison organ in China for the international TV summit forum China’s TV Industry in the Globalization. It will be held at Duke University on October 28th-30th, 2005. The former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, president of the Media Corporation, Rupert Murdock, the director of Media Office of China State Department Zhao Qizheng, Vice director general of China Radio and Television Bureau Zhao Huayong, and other international moguls will attend the forum. This is the first international summit forum for China’s TV industry held in the US. The USCF will work as a coordinator and linkman to invite and organize the leaders of the TV Stations in China to attend the forum in the U.S. This is to promote communication and cooperation of the TV industry between China and the US.

On July 26, Larry Lee, president of USCF and Dai Tongde, special assistant to the president, met with a famous eye doctor from Tongren Hospital. They discussed the project of establishing a center for the census of glaucoma. This center will be supported by Gene·Grace, former president of US Glaucoma Association.

On July 28,The president of USCF Li Li flew to Shanghai to meet and have breakfast with an old friend of USCF, Kenneth Jarrett. Mr Jarrett, recently took the post of U.S. consulate to Shanghai. During his stay in Shanghai, president Li had meetings with local celebrities from commercial and industry, culture, and the media a to make a guidance plan for the future work of USCF in Shanghai.

On July 28,After our long-term communication and negotiation with the US cities such as Dallas and Boston, the tour show the Artistic Soul of China got further development by reaching some common understandings by both sides. The USCF immediately adjusted the fees and the singers to match the local situation in the US cities. Presently, the communication is still underway.

On July 28,Mr. Wang Ruifeng from China TV Artists’ Association held a conversation with the Culture and Art Director of USCF Li Yanxin on the cooperation of the international summit forum China’s TV Industry in Globalization. The forum will be held in Duke University in the US in October 28-30, 2005. The works of prime preparation had begun and about 30 leaders of the TV stations in China will be invited.

The USCF is going to hold a large Charity Party in September this year. It is proposed by Mr. Li Li, President of USCF and mainly elaborated and organized by the Culture and Art Director of USCF Li Yanxin. The USCF plans to cooperate with China Charity Federation, Xinhua Net and the magazine L’ Officiel, and invite Beijing University and Renming University to it. The Charity Party aims at spreading the humanism that combining honesty, goodness and virtue, and reflecting the purpose of constructing a harmonized society and establishing a scientific developing concept. The charity money it collects will be used as the scholarship for the poor university students and the fund for glaucoma treatment.

On July 28,the Culture and Art Director of USCF Li Yanxin held a friendly conversation with the general manager of Beijing Jingzhigao Advertising Company Mr. Xu Jing. Mr. Xu expressed his willing to participate in the promotion of China Model Contest. The two will have further discussion in the future.
