News Letter of USCF for April,2005

On April 12, 2005, Larry Lee, president of USCF flew to the US on business. During his stay in the US, he met the senior advisors of USCF Including Diana, Nick Clements. Larry Lee was also invited to visit Leant University near Boston and warmly greeted by Dr. Mitchell, president of this university and congressman.

On April 18,2005, Authorized by the Ministry of Culture of the People’s Republic of China, the Art and Culture Promotion Association of China and the United States and China Foundation will front for the China Model Contest in the following 5 years. The first-year competition-----2005 Chinese Model Contest -----will come off on the first ten days of November, 2005. Under the guideline of integrating with the world market the Contest will extend the realm of art of model, make the socio-culture life more active, rule the Chinese model market, stimulate model’s economic growth and prove the place of Chinese model industry in the international model industry.

The China Model Contest will create the Chinese model’ brand in term of international criterion, and bring up, select and recommend the fresh models. The Contest also aim to satisfy manpower demands of the fields of costume, advertisement, model, amenity, entertainment, media, etc.. Meanwhile , it will select and recommend outstanding models for the 2008 Beijing Olympic games as volunteers and providing service related works.
In order to make full use of the flat roof to creative the commercial brand and exalt the social reputation, the Organizing Committee of the Contest seeks for cooperations. If you need detail information, please contact with the Organizing Committee of the China Model Contest.

The top 50 winners of the final competition will structure a global performance in New York City, Las Vegas, Paris, London, Milan, Tokyo and Taiwan, Hong Kong and Moocow .

On the evening of April 30, US-China Foundation held Musical Party at Hilton Hotel to entertain friends at home and abroad and celebrate May 1 holiday.

The guests attending this party were high officials from Central Government, Ministries of the State Council, Culture, Art, Education, Media, and Corporate sectors, foreign consulates and international friends including: Mr. Qin Huasun, Senior Advisor of US-China Foundation, former Chinese Ambassador to the UN; Mr. Qiu Shenyun, Senior Advisor of US-China Foundation, former Chinese Consul General in New York to the US; Mr. Jin Yongjian, Senior Advisor of US-China Foundation, former Deputy Secretary of the UN; Mr. Tian Henian, former leader of General Office of the State Council; Mr. Zhang Jingan, Minister of Ministry of Science and Technology; Mr. Xu Qingde, Head of State Secrets Bureau and Ms. Xu; Mr. Wang Bin, Vice Chairman of Development and Promotion Association for Chinese Culture and Art; Mr. Zhen Dexing, Chairman of Printing House of State Literature Research Center and Ms. Zhen; General Editor Yu Wei, General Editor of Printing House of State Archives Bureau; Mr. Sun Gang, Assistant Editor of China Archives Newspaper; Ms. Liu Qian, head of Tai Wan Bureau of International Liaison Department of the CPC Central Commission; Mr. Liu Bao Chen, Dean of Sino-US Management School of Foreign Trade University; Mr. Peng Heping, Assistant to president of People University; Mr. Yang Hengda, professor of People University; Mr. Zhou Hongxing, Senior Advisor of US-China Foundation, former president of Beijing Humanities University, professor of People University, well-known educator and calligrapher; Mr. Dong Fang kuniu well-known painter and his wife; Mrs. AnneMette Lavery from Visa Section of the US Embassy to China; Mr. Vlad Lipschutz from the US Embassy to China; Mr. Zhang Xiao Bing, representative of JUKI. There were also many senior advisors and friends of US-China Foundation present at the party.

This party also got much media coverage. CCTV sent their reporters to the party. Ms. Chen Ling General Editor of Beijing Evening; Mr. Liu Fan, vice director of Editorial Department of Chinese Yong Talent and Mr. Zhu Liqing, director of Art Department of Beijing TV Station attended the party.
Some talented, young musicians and singers performed at the party. Four postgraduates from National Conservatory performed their Chinese traditional music “ Flying Spring ’’; Mr. Chai Liang, well-known violinist, who graduated from National Conservatory and studied at Julia Conservatory in the US, gave his performance; Ms. Zhu Jiali, former Supervisor of Art and Culture Exchange Department of USCF, who is now postgraduate instructed by Mr. Jin Tielin, president of National Conservatory performed a Chinese Folk Song and an Italian Opera. 
Soft songs and sweet melody echoed in the third floor hall of Hilton Hotel and created pleasant holiday atmosphere.

Listening to beautiful music, sipping Luzhou Wine and enjoying the banquet, the guests were talking about good times of being together in the past and looked into the hopeful future.
The newcomers of USCF Beijing Office also took part in this party. Among them were Ms. Hu Dong Yuan, Chief Representative of USCF; Mr. Dai Tong De, Special Assistant to president of USCF and Executive Supervisor; Ms. Li Yan Xin, Supervisor of Culture and Art Department of USCF; Ms. Guan Jing, Supervisor of International Exchange Department of USCF; Ms. Zhang Ping, Legal Assistant of USCF; Ms. Yang Yang, Financial Assistant of USCF.
