Red Lantern Reveals Happiness and Music Receives Honorable Guests
After the full preparation of all USCF staff members, the “2005 Spring Festival Musical Reception” was held at the Macao Hall of the Great Hall of the People at 6:00 p.m. on January 29, 2005 on time and successfully, organized by the United States and China Foundation, co-organized by China Association for Promotion of Non-governmental Sci-Tech Enterprise.
In the happy evening, guests at present were leaders from central government, State Council, national departments and Beijing municipal government and international friends coming from the circles of finance, science & technology, culture, judicature, education, media, enterprises and embassies. Premier Wen Jiabao accepted our invitation happily. Due to government affairs to deal with, Premier Wen was too busy to attend this event, appointing his secretary, Mr. Song to convey Premier Wen’s thankfulness and best wishes to the US-China Foundation and Mr. Larry L. Lee, President of USCF, passing Spring Festival Wishes to guests taking part in this reception. When comrade Zhang Di announced this good news from Premier Wen, ardent and unremitting applause broke out all over Macao Hall. President Larry Lee delivered a warm speech to guests on behalf of the executive board of US-China Foundation.
Some VIPs confirmed their presence in this evening, but had to be absent for reasons of important matters, appointed their secretaries to convey thankfulness to USCF including Cheng Siwei, the Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress; Mr. Ma Kai, the Director of the National Development and Reform Commission and Mr.Xiang Huaicheng, the Board Chairman of the China Social Guarantee Found Council.
On behalf of the Executive Board of USCF and thousands of USCF members in China and the United States, President Larry Lee conveyed thankfulness to the cordial greetings of Premier Wen, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of P.R.C. and other leaders. At the same time, President Larry Lee addressed the warm and sincere speech to everyone, reporting our achievements of last year, including the successful arrangement of Former US President George H. Bush’s “China visit”, “2004 International Environment Protection Forum” attended by Former US President George H. Bush, co-organized by China Foreign Friendship Association & China UN Association, “Sino-US Educational Forum and Educational Project Signature Ceremony” presided over by President George H. Bush, which was held in the Great Hall of the People and other our successful events. On his following speech, President Larry lee introduced the 2005 work emphasis of USCF, of which the joint creation of “China International University” by tens of US famous universities, the establishment of “China Finance Sci-Tech Credit Guaranty & Investment Co., Ltd.”, the perfection of “Sino-US Friendship Eye Center”, the expansion of US market for Neusoft Digital Medical International Company, conducting “China Cultural Festival” in many US cities and so on. Specially, President Larry Lee introduced Mr. Ken Jarrett, Dr. Gene Grace, other US friends, some officials of Ukrainian Embassy in China including Political Economical Counselor and his wife, Minster as well as Counselor. His speech ended by “Make friends extensively and keep good relations with others; Bridge for people to create value” was amiable, genial and genuine, which give a deep impression on everyone.
Deputy Premier Sun Fuling, Ambassador Chai Zemin, Dr. Gene Grace and Secretary-general Xiu Zhentang offered toasts to the reception. The reception curtain was drawn up, with the bright “Mazurka” played by US young pianist Ms. Einat.
Ukrainian master of cello, the beautiful and charming Miss Darya Y. Syedova’s Polonaise Concerto brought pleasant surprise to guests (She flew to Beijing from Ukraine immediately on her special trip after our invitation). The renowned Japanese singer Miss Sagawara Yoshiko’s “Ang” gave much magnificent feeling to the audience. The new song named “Nice to Go Home” sung originally by Ms. Zhu Jiali, Cultural & Artistic supervisor of USCF, was created for 2005 Spring Festival. Ms. Zhu Jiali’s sweet voice was full of deep emotion standing out the art form for the contemporary people’s expectation towards harmonious society and happy family life. Moreover, young singer Miss Xie Yin and Miss Zhang Xin gave their excellent performance.
Mr. Zhang Di, USCF impression representative, the Dalian Music TV leader, as well as young singer brought his song “The Kind People” to the audience. Mr. Tang Yinuo, the Tsinghua University student performed 《Low A Major Polish Dance》, Five years ago, Yinuo with the “Chinese Young Musician Delegacy” which hosted by USCF went to The United States in 2000, he played the melody in the famous “ Lincoln Art Center”, and received praise from Dr. Kissinger and Madam Chen Xiangmei’s and other American politicians and celebrities. Zhang Hongyan, The famous lute player and deputy-professor, played the “close ambush” with proficiency, her performance embodied the genuine meaning of Bai Juyi, the poet of China’s Tang Dynesday,“The performing skills is so consummate that the music brings subtle feeling to you”, “Your lute melody is so nice, just like that performed by Godness which let my hearing becomes more clear.” At last, ten calligraphers and artists performed their stunts including Mr. Zhou Tian, the famous calligrapher & painter; Director of China Calligraphy Association, the current Principle of Ethical Painting University; Mr. Zhao Gu, the winner of the National Fine Arts Exhibition, the renowned designer of China’s ID Preventing False Making; Mr. Jiao Kequn, the Leader of Teach Research Group for Flower & Birds and dean of Flower & Birds Painting Department in Central Fine Arts University; Mr. Zhou Hongxing; the famous calligrapher, the principle of fame of Renmin University; Mr. Wang Jinming, the member of China Fine Arts Association, the renowned painter; Mr. Jing Kai, the painter who painted the “Pinaster & Red-crowned Crane” for the beginning of the documentary of the 11th Asian Athletic Meeting, the first painter who held personal painter exhibition in Span; Young painter Lin Haohu; Mr. Wang Shouhao, the famous painter of China Fine Arts Association; Mr. Liu Yuhong. famous calligrapher of International Youbo Fine Arts Gallery; Wei Shen, the painter of the Art Department of Guang Xi Fine Art University and so on. Their excellent performance led the happy atmosphere to its climax.

All friends got through a happy and elegant night together during the eve of the Spring Festival. At the same time, it also enhanced their friendship, and deepened understanding of each other. In the end, Larry Lee, the President of the USCF, wishes all guest present have a good Spring Festival, a happy family and all the best.
