During this month, USCF organized two major activities---Former US President George Bush attended USCF Educational Exchange Project Signing Ceremony and Shanghai World Environment Protection Forum Held Successfully in Shanghai.

A, Former US President George Bush attended USCF Educational Exchange Project Signing Ceremony

At 12:30, April 21,2004, the signing ceremony was organized by USCF and Beijing Xintuo Yinhao International Investment Company. It was co-sponsored by Marketing Resource Group (MR) and held at the People’s Great Hall in Beijing.

Mr. Li Maoqi, well-known host of CCTV 9 hosted the ceremony. Former U.S. President George Bush attended the ceremony and delivered a speech.

The guests attending the ceremony included: Mr. Clark T. Randt, Jr., US. Ambassador to China; Mr. Nick Clements, Chief Coordinator of former U.S. President George Bush; Mr. Ernest J. Scallberg, Vice President and Dean of the Graduate School of International Business- Monterey Institute of International Studies; Mr. Gene Grace, Medical Advisor of USCF and well-known specialist on eye diseases; Mr. Dong Quan, Fellow of U.S. Miami University; Mr. Larry Lee, President of USCF; Mr. Zhao Xinliang, Vice Chairman of Liaoning People’s Political Consultative Conference; Mr. Li Rongxi, Vice Director of Education Administration Bureau; Mr. Qiu Yanwen, Vice Director of China Development Bank; Mr. Zhang Xiao Yu, Vice Chairman and Secretary General of China International Corporation Association; Mr. Xie Xinzhou, Vice Dean of Media School of Beijing University; Mr. Mo Jianwen, President of Beijing Xintuo Yinhao International Investment Company; Dr. Yang Huanming, Director of Gene Research Institute of China Science and Technology Research Institute; Mr. Zhou Hongxing, advisor to USCF and former President of Beijing Renwen University; Professor of Beijing Renmin University, well-known educator and well-known calligrapher; Mr. Huai Sha, well-known writer; Mr. Pang Zhuochao, General Manager of MR Marketing Resource Group; and Mr. Guo Ji, General Manager of Beijing Chang Puhe Culture Investment Company.

At the beginning, Dr. Ernest J. Scallberg, Vice President and Dean of the Graduate School of International Business Monterey Institute of International Studies presented Former U.S. President George Bush with a t-shirt from Monterey Institute. Representatives from US and China Universities introduced the development of this project. Mr. Larry Lee, President of USCF and Mr. Mo Jianwen, President of Beijing Xintuo Yinhao International Investment Company signed the agreement of the Dalian International University Project. Mr. Larry Lee and Mr. Xie Xinzhou, Vice Dean of Media School of Beijing University signed an agreement between Beijing University News and Media Training Project, Hong Kong Art College and New York Art School of New York University Cooperation Project.


The cooperation of the above projects will speed up the development of the China Education Industry, share international educational resources, and strengthen the exchange between US and China in the field of education. Dr. Ernest J. Scallberg, Senior Advisor of USCF, founder of Beijing University EMBA Program, and Vice President and Dean of the Graduate School of International Business Monterey Institute of International Studies, said that China needs many top management personel because of China’s status on the international stage and its rapid economic growth. The cooperation between U.S. and Chinese universities is very important for the globalization of Chinese enterprises. Mr. Larry Lee, President of USCF, also stated the importance of the cooperation and it would make U.S. know more about China, as well as strengthen the exchange between American and Chinese people.

Former US President George Bush delivered a speech on U.S.-Sino relationship and education. Mr. Mo Jianwen, Vice President and investor in USCF and President of Beijing Xintuo Yinhao International Investment Company presented former U.S. President George Bush with an award for US-Sino Friendship Excellent Contribution to acknowledge his contribution to the bilateral cooperation between U.S. and China. Mr. Zhou Hongxing, former President of Beijing Renwen University, presented former U.S. President George Bush with his calligraphy: landscapes in different nations, the similarity of wind and moon in the same sky----symbolizing U.S. and China tens of thousands miles away, but the friendship between the two peoples is very close.
The signing ceremony acted as a platform for the cooperation between the U.S. and China Education field and was consistent with the strategy of the Chinese government. With the development of globalization, China needs many top management personel. The goal of this project is to bring in high quality management personel for China utilizing the US educational resources.

B, Shanghai World Environment Protection Forum Held Successfully in Shanghai

At 2:00 pm, April 19, 2004, Shanghai World Environment Protection Forum of 2004, was held at Shanghai Xinjijiang Hotel. The forum was organized by USCF, China Overseas Friendship Association, United Nations Association, China Environment Protection Fund and Shanghai Overseas Friendship Association, and sponsored by MR Marketing Resource Group.

Ms. Yuan Ming, well-known hostess of Shanghai Dragon Station, hosted the forum. The main guests attending the forum include: former U.S. President George Bush; Mr. Chai Zemin, the first Ambassador to the U.S. and Honorary Chairman of USCF; Mr. Larry Lee, Chairman and President of USCF; Ms. Li Xiaolin, Vice Chairman of China Overseas Friendship Association; Mr. Zhou Yuxiao, Vice Chairman of United Nations Association; Ms. Xu Yanting, well-known Chinese artist and President of Hong Kong Art College; Mr. Pang Zhaozhuo, President of MR Marketing Resource Group; Mr. Nick Clements, President of US Cubic Group; Dr. Ernest J. Scallberg, Senior Advisor of USCF, and Vice President and Dean of the Graduate School of International Business Monterey Institute of International Studies; Mr. Wang Wenhao, President of China Yuan Tong Group; Dr. Dong Quan, Fellow of Miami International University; Mr. Wing Hak-Man, Chairman of Bio- Treat Technology Limited listed on Main Board of Singapore Exchange; Mr. Wang Wenhao, President of China Yuan Tong Group; Ms. Ma Guixin, Professor of Environment Department of Shenyang Normal University; Mr. Zhu Yichai, President of Yurun Group; Mr. Mo Jianwen, Director and Vice Chairman of USCF; Mr. Xue Minghui, Vice Governor of China Development Bank; and related Chinese government agencies; as well as environment specialists and CEOs of many international companies.

Mr. Chai Zemin, the first Ambassador to the U.S. and Honorary Chairman of USCF stated in his speech that Chinese government and Chinese people came to realize the importance of environment protection while developing its economy, reforming it and opening it up. It is very significant for USCF, China Overseas Friendship Association and United Nations Association to organize the forum at the right time. Ms. Li Xiaolin, Vice Chairman of China Overseas Friendship Association delivered a welcoming speech. Dr. Dong Quan, Fellow of Miami International University delivered a speech on the contribution of the development of ecology to human society and acted as the interpreter for this forum. Dr. Ernest J. Scallberg stated his opinion in his speech on the importance and the effect of environment education. Mr. Wing Hak-Man, Chairman of Bio- Treat Technology Limited listed on main board of Singapore Exchange delivered a speech on the 
treatment of wasted water by means of recycling concept. Mr. Wang Wenhao, President of China Yuan Tong Group, delivered a speech on alleviation of environment and energy crisis utilizing nano-technology. Mr. Wang Wenhao stated his opinion in his speech on emerging environment protection in China.

Former U.S. President George Bush arrived at the forum at 5:00 pm, and then Mr. Larry Lee announced the Declaration of World Environment Protection Forum of 2004. Dr. Scalberg introduced Former U.S. President George Bush’s resume and Mr. Larry Lee interpreted it. At 6:05 pm Former U.S. President George Bush delivered a speech. He said that environment protection was very important for our next generation and it required the concern worldwide to control the environment pollution ultimately. Based on this idea, he signed the first act of Environment Protection in American history during his tenure.

Former U.S. President George Bush presented Mr. Wing Hak-Man, Mr. Wang Wenhao and Ms. Ma Guixin, the first Chinese writer of science of environment protection, with the award of International Environment Protection Contribution, Mr. Zhu Yicai with the award of US-Sino Friendship Contribution.

Former U.S. President George Bush toasted the guests for his pre-birthday party. Everyone at the forum sang s song “ Happy Birthday” to former U.S. President George Bush. USCF presented former U.S. President George Bush with an ancient Chinese vessel to acknowledge his contribution to the US-Sino Friendship. 
All participants realized that the development of science and technology, that modern civilization brings on ecology and environment problems. How to balance economic growth and environment protection in a win-win situation has became the worldwide concern.

Declaration of Shanghai World Environment Protection of 2004 was officially signed at this forum and the short, solemn promises with the names of participants will be carved on a special Chinese copper vessel, which symbolizes the immortality and it will be kept in related United Nations institution forever. The participants wished to look for partnership in environment protection field through this forum at the same time.

The forum caught worldwide concern and would play an active role in promoting Chinese environment protection education, raising the awareness of environment protection nationwide and strengthening the exchange in the environment protection field home and abroad.

China High Technology and Art Company is responsible for making the vessel and they are the ones that introduced it at the forum.
The forum ended successfully at 6:20 p.m.
