1、Shenyang

Invited by the United States and China Foundation, Ms. Svetlana Strezeva, a famous American soprano; Mr. Ion Pojar, a well-known American tenor and Miss Milana Strezeva, a famous American pianist came to China to attend the exchange activity of "the 5th Session of Liaoning Culture and Art Festival". The three American musicians performed successfully with several Chinese musicians on Oct. 20th and 21st at Shenyang Bayi Theatre, and the concert's name was " Musical Night of New York"

The concert's program included a series of world wide famous melodies such as MNESICKU NA NEBE GLUBOKE (From 'Rusalka'), QUESTA O QUELLA (From 'Rigoletto'), ELEGY, Katsusha, Troika, Love has come, Core n' grato, O SOLE MIO, BRINDISI DUET and so on. The concert is the only one at which the main musicians were foreigners. The Chinese musicians performing with the three American Musicians included Ms. Gong Yunxiang, a famous soprano, Mr. Zhao Deju, a famous director, Shenyang Philharmonic Orchestra and specially invited Presenter Xiao Bai.

The feature of the concert was that all the musicians and the accompaniment band performed with no public-address system, and they gave the audiences the chance to enjoy the truest voices. Otherwise, when the three American musicians decided to give the concert in China, people in Manhattan was experiencing such disaster and panic as without electricity and water, traffic jam, tele- communication interrupted, upcreep of the price of gasoline, short of necessaries of life and etc. All of above situation could be expressed as "the city will be destroyed while the black clouds is pressing at it". At last the musician's justice won the evanescent disaster. Just before departure from New York to China, the soprano Svetlana Strezeva's husband who was also Miss Milana Stezeva's father was badly ill. The two musicians took more care about the audiences of Shenyang and they remained their performance in Sheyang. What we had seen was not only the review of justice and consence, but a piece of song for the world's culture and development and the friendship between Chinese and American peoples……

The performance by Chinese and American musicians not only deepens the friendship between the two peoples, but also promotes the culture and art exchange. The United States and China Foundation builds an art bridge for Chinese and American peoples, makes the culture and art of the two countries cooperate more widely, more all-rounder and more deeply, firms the relations of the two peoples and is devoted to deepen and promote the friendly intercourse of China and USA.

2、Shenzheng

"The Nightingale From New York" Concert

On the evening of Oct. 27th, 2001, the concert of " The Nightingale From New York" was successfully held at Shenzhen Grand Theatre as expected. The concert was organized by USCF and PAC Audio & Video Co..

Shenzhen Grand Theatre is located at the east of the large portrait of Mr. Deng Xiaoping, which is one of the most important markers in Shenzhen. Its inner concert hall specially designed for performance has ideal sound effect. After Ms. Zhu Jiali, the Art and Cultural Supervisor of the Foundation introduced the three world famous musicians to the audiences, the concert began. Ms. Svetlana Strezeva, a famous soprano gave the first song. Her melodious voice made all of the people in the concert hall drunk and as a result her performance won warm and perennial applause. The audiences coming to visit the concert were mostly from music groups and had a high music appreciation level. The applause testified that the three musicians were the first class in the world. Mr. Ion Pojar, a famous tenor sang alternatively with Ms. Svetlana Strezeva, accompanied by Miss Milana, a famous pianist. All of those let the audiences enjoy their music devotedly. After every song, warm applause was given. The musicians' natural singing and dancing put the concert to the climax. Hearing the warm applause, the musicians returned to the stage again. The audiences stood up and were not willing to leave. At the same time，some of them came to the backstage to ask for the musicians' signatures and photo taking.

Although there is only one concert at which the three musicians performed, it really makes the personnel in the music field in Shenzhen and fans moved deeply. The beautiful and rarefied voice from USA has left lovely memory to Shenzhen people.
