At the end of 2012, USCF, China International Culture Association and NCPA, invited Tbilisi State Opera Theater from Georgia, which has over 150 years of history and took part in many international musical festivals in the world, to give their first public performances in China directed by famous Italian conductor Gianluca.
The orchestra founded in 1857 is the national orchestra of Georgia and consists of 121 artists. Conductor Gianluca directs this orchestra. He also acts as conductor in Slovenian Ljubljana, Ucrainian, Dieter Rossberg symphony orchestras and works as the first conductor at Zagreb. This orchestra gave many performances in many countries and participated in many famous international musical festivals and achieved great successes.
This orchestra arrived in Beijing on December 18, 2012 and gave their first public performance at NCPA on the evening of December 20, 2012. USCF arranged for famous singers like Zhang Jianyi, Zhang Liping, Wang Zhuanyue, Julia Zhu join in this concert. This concert would present Chinese audience with a high quality musical feast. The first performance received high praise from audience and critics. CCTV also covered this event.
This orchestra separately gave two non-commercial performances at Central Nationalities University and China Renmin University on December 21 and 24 to present promising young university students with the music of passion and friendship and bring the high quality concert combined with international and national spirits into university campuses. When the two concerts came to the end, the students stood up applauding and cheering, the conductor Gianlucca, witty and lively, at the request of the students, then directed two pieces of music, full of fast and exciting melodies, to thank for enthusiasm from audience.
The orchestra came to Shenyang to give their performance at Shenyang China Theatre on December 23. This concert in Shenyang co-organized by USCF and local government received high acclaim from audience. Although it was -27 degree outdoors, the tenor Wang Chuanyue, Soprano Zhang Xin, Conductor Gianluca, together with the orchestra concluded their performance with full passion and amazing professional devotion and received high praise from audience.
The orchestra arrived in Anhui province on the afternoon of December 25; they gave their two performances in a row at Anhui Grand Theartre and brought people in Anhui province with exotic musical feast. On the day of performance December 28, propaganda department minister Cao Zhenghai and vice-govenor Xie guangxiang met with all artist and thanked for their visit to Anhui and encouraged the orchestra to learn to perform Huangmei opera.Provincial Party Secretary Zhang Baoshun, Governor Li Bin, Deputy Secretary Sun Zhijun, propaganda department minister Cao Zhenghai, and all sectors of Anhui Province,includ government officials, military leaders with more than 1,400 audiences enjoying this New Year's Concert of Chinese and Western.The famous song "Love at the same planet", words written by USCF president, music composed by Chen Tong, sung by Julia Zhu, brought the concert to climax and the concert concluded to the music of Radetzky March. After the concerts in Anhui, USCF arranged for the orchestra to visit the places of interest in Anhui and Anhui Museum.
