“Sheng Zhongguo and Zhu Jiali Beautiful Song and Violin Symphony Concert”
"Sheng Zhongguo and Zhu Jiali Beautiful Song and Violin Symphony Concert" co-hosted by National Center for the Performing Arts (NCPA) and USCF began at 7.30pm, 22nd OCT, 2010(Friday) at NCPA, and was a great success.
As we know, Sheng Zhongguo is a master of Chinese violinists while Zhu Jiali is a soprano who is active in China and America . Therefore, vocal and violin’s appearing respectively on the stage, and Chinese folk music and western music’s perfect combination become two highlights of this concert. In the first part of the concert, violinist Sheng Zhongguo played well-known violin concerto《Butterfly Lovers》；Zhu Jiali performed original Chinese folk song《Moonlit Night》、《Daur Love Songs》、《Lasting Love》. In the second part, Sheng Zhongguo’s solo《Csardas Dance》created a warm atmosphere again. Besides, he played western classical songs《Meditation》,《Vagrants》etc. Zhu Jiali song famous opera of Mozart, a piece from< The Marriage of Figaro> ---《Moments around the corner》, an excerpt from Bellini Opera《 La Sonnambula》---《Ah, garden flowers dying》, an excerpt from Verdi Opera《Sicilian Vespers》---《Thanks, friends》、The famous American composer George Gershwin vocal music《Summertime》 etc. Furthermore, Zhe Jiali sang her original song Good Bye New York which is written by former Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing. In the end, Madrigal combined the violin and voice together and brought the atmosphere to a climax, which made the audience appreciate the music.
Elegant and sweet soprano and charming violin melody intoxicated the audience. On that night, fans from Houston and Tokyo came to enjoy the charm of music.
As an outstanding violin soloist of China National Symphony Orchestra and President of the Association of Chinese Violinists, Sheng Zhongguo is one of violinists who won international recognation in his early days. Sheng Zhongguo began to study violin from his father-famous violin educator Sheng Xue when Sheng was five. He was accepted at the School of Central Conservatory of Music in 1954. At the commemorative concert for 200th anniversary of Mozart in 1956, with Central Philharmonic Orchestra’s concerto conducted by Li Delun, he successfully played 《Violin Concerto in A》composed by Mozart. In the same year, he took part in national music week and his 《Violin Concerto in F》composed by Ma sicong, performed with the orchestra of Central Conservatory of Music received high praise and attention from music community. He went to Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory for further study and studied from violin master Column Kogan in 1960.After coming back to China in 1964, he become a soloist of the Central Philharmonic Orchestra and now head of violin association, Director of the Chinese Music Association, CPPCC member, NLD Central Committee. “Outstanding Performer of Music Performance” “the most charming violinist” “the Menuhin in China ”—remarks given to Chinese violinist Sheng Zhongguo from music authorities worldwide.
Zhu Jiali graduated with honors from Shenyang Conservatory of Music and majored in vocal. She admitted by China Conservatory of Music, studied from China famous vocal educator Jin Tielin and international well-known Mezzo-soprano singer Liang Ning in western opera systematically. She also studied in Butler School of Music, Indiana and National Theatre of Norway PairGain Europe and majored in Bel canto. On the 30th April, 2007, she was invited by former U.S. President Bush to perform in his hometown where “Red Wood Concert” was held in Houston International Festival and the concert was a huge success. Her elegant, sweet and special voice, masterly and soulful performance, beautiful and elegant stage presence made the venue full of warm applause. China Arts and Entertainment Group General Manager Zhang Yu said:” Jiali’s solo concert puts five different singing styles, folk, vocal, drama, opera, and pop music together”.
Italian Embassy Cultural attaché after enjoying Zhu Jiali’s performance on Bellini’s difficult opera selection, said, “Fantastic”. During Beijing Olympic Games, 2008, Zhu Jiali was invited as the only vocalist of China taking part in Concerts International Vocal Master together with the world's most famous singers at Beijing ’s Great Hall. She performed with Fleming, Georgiou, Sumi Jo on the same stage, which caught much attention from home and abroad.
This “Beautiful Vocal and Violin Symphony Concert” performed together by two artists held on the golden October and offered Chinese and foreign audiences to a spectacular feast of art.
After this concert in Beijing , Sheng Zhongguo and Zhu Jiali will begin their concert tour in some cities of China and America .
