——A remark on the 5th Anniversary of “9.11”

——this is an unforgettable address for all members of USCF.

Since 1990s, USCF has headquartered at the well-known World Trade Center in the New York City. When friends of USCF outside New York area arrived in the city, driving out of Newark international Airport, Manhattan emerged in the light of ocean miles away. We could see clearly the Twin Towers of World Trade Center standing high in the sky. “That is our headquarters.” Very often, we would tell our friends and visitors pointing to the Twin Towers.

Five years passing by, the Twin Towers vanished without trace. As I drive on the NJ Turnpike from New Jersey to New York; as I strolled downtown Manhattan from to Wall Street to Liberty Street, as the familiar scene of our offices in the 83rd floor of the One WTC, and, busy but dynamic atmosphere, light and airy lobby of the Twin Towers appeared quietly in my mind, it is very, very difficult to believe the fact that the Twin Towers had no longer exist.

This is an unacceptable fact for almost every one who worked or lived in New York City. Within a few hours, the steel structure of the twin Towers most well known in the world reduced to rubble, thousands of innocents perished, modern civilization was damaged brutally.

But, the people’s spirit and their belief cannot be destroyed. In fact, UCSF did not stop its work for a moment even during this incident. USCF branch offices in China and the US took over all works of our headquarters: forums, exchange visits, and even “Musical Night of New York” concert scheduled in late September 2001. All programs and activities proceeded smoothly and achieved over expected result.

USCF undertakes a mission of “Bridging the Pacific; Bridging the Hearts of the People”. This mission has become the mutual belief of members of USCF: hundreds of thousand Americans and Chinese and international friends; and, it has rooted in the souls of countless people associated with USCF.

“One World Trade Center, 83rd Floor, New York City, New York”. This address has became a symbol, the symbol of our belief and spirit; the symbol of USCF’s forever headquarters ……

As we review the pictures of USCF’s works in the past five years recorded in this brochure, I want to say: what we see is the blooming flowers of understanding and friendship fertilized by this belief and spirit.
