---------The first press conference for the international forum

entitled “One Hundred Years’ Xiangya and Human Care” co-organized by USCF and other institutions was held in Changsha, Hunan Province, China.

This press conference was held at a 5-star hotel, Tongcheng International Hotel, on October 19, marking the 100th anniversary of Xiangya Hospital affiliated to Zhongnan University.

The forum for “One Hundred Years’ Xiangya and Human Care” co-organized by USCF and Xiangya Hospital, sponsored by Hunan Jinan Information Technology Company, would address the issues such as society in harmony, humanity, understanding and care between human beings, living conditions and social services, etc, in order to emphasize the relationship between patients and hospitals at a high level of viewing this relationship as an important part of the development and harmony of society.

This forum would distinguish from other forums and be very significant. Xiangya Hospital, founded in 1906, was the first hospital set up by US Yali Association in China, enjoying the name’’ Southern Xiangya”. Chairman Mao Zhe Dong, the founder of the People’s Republic of China had a close relationship with the Xiangya Hospital in Mao’s youth. Xiangya Hospital has a splendid history of one hundred years; is the witness of Chinese medical development in the past hundred years; is the fruit of medical exchange between China and the US; is the product of the globally medical exchange. USCF is an international organization headquartered in the US. Over nearly 15 years since its foundation, USCF had organized many international forums such as US-China Forum; Shanghai International Environment Protection Forum; law forums, education forums. USCF organized many important, international conferences attended by former US President George Bush Sr., former US Secretary of State Dr. Henery Kissinger, Cyrus Vance, and former US Ambassador to China James R. Sasser. USCF has successful experiences in organizing international forums and has built up a well-known brand and reputation in this area both in China and the US. Hunan JInan Information Technology Company and Chang Sha Media Company, which pay much attention to social responsibility and humanism in their operations, would build a, high level; creative and globally well-known brand for this forum together with the above-mentioned organizers. The holding of this forum for “One Hundred Years’ Xiangya and Human Care” would build up a platform for cooperation and dialogue, more open-mindedly, at high level studying medical issues from the new point of view as humanism.

This forum, through the platform of “One Hundred Years’ Xiangya and Human Care”, would promote the exchange in areas of medicine and humanism between China and the US, promote the exchange between medical specialists and social workers; promote the exchange between doctors and patients; achieve a goal of building a society in harmony, a society with humanism, to follow, in a new way, Chinese governmental policy over the issues—‘’providing high quality medical services.’’

Former US President George Bush Sr., sent a telegram to Larry Lee, president of USCF on October 17, conveying his gratitude and best wishes to the organizing committee of this forum for their invitation to him and to the forum “One Hundred Years’ Xiangya and Human Care”; three seniors advisors of USCF: Qin Huasun, the former Chinese UN Ambassador, Qiu Shengyun - the Former Chinese Consul General to Houston and NYC, and Prof. Li Zehou, the leading intellectual and the most influential thinker/philosopher in China, delivered excellent speeches and gave their inscriptions at this meeting; Dr. Chen Fang Ping, president of Xiangya Hospital, warmly gave his speech and answered questions from the media. Also, provincial, municipal officials: Lu Guang Xiu, Tan Zhong Chi, Liu Ai Hua, Cao Ya sent their best wishes to this press conference; Mr. Zhu Han Min, president of calligraphy school, which has a history of 1030 years, Mr. Wang Wei, world –famous professor in medical plantation field attended the press conference.

The international forum for “One Hundred Years’ Xiangya and Human Care” would be held annually.
