New life & Promising future

Back comes the spring; everything is vigorous even around the corner. In such a season full of new life and hope, USCF Southwest Office, a new life, was established.

On March 4th. 2006, the signature ceremony, which celebrated the establishment of USCF southwest office, was held grandly in Beijing Damingtang Hotel. Distinguished guests present were as the following, Chai Zemin, the first Chinese Ambassador to the United States, General Advisor of USCF, and his wife; Ambassador Qiu Shengyun, former Consul General of New York City and Huston, present Executive Director and Vice-Chairman of USCF; Professor Zhou Hongxing, Former President of China Humanities University, well-known calligrapher, honorary consultant of USCF, and his assistant; Larry L. Lee, executive president of USCF; Huang Weiqi, director of USCF southwest office; Ma Di, administrative director of USCF; Hu Dongyuan, chief representative of USCF Beijing office; USCF president assistant Dai Tongde and art & culture communication assistant Wang Di.

The Ceremony progressed harmoniously and happily. At the beginning, Professor Zhou Hongxing exhibited his writings in scene and presented them to Ambassador Chai Zemin and Huang Weiqi personally. Then, Dai Tongde announced the formal start for the ceremony after which the ceremony purdah was undrawed with applause. Ambassador Chai Zemin, Professor Zhou Hongxing, executive president Larry Lee, director of USCF southwest office Huang Weiqi made brilliant speech. What is worth mentioning is the speech made by Chai Zemin, who is 90 years old now. But he is always energetic and in high spirits. His incisive analysis and understanding of Sino-US relations was so convinced that every guest presented showed respect to the old man from the bottom of their heart. At the same time, Huang Weiqi, newly appointed Director of USCF southwest office, deeply impressed people with his humor.

After the speech, it was the signature ceremony with the highest importance. Under the twinkling of the flash bulb, Larry Lee and Huang Weiqi signed in the agreement solemnly. Then, Dai Tongde announced that the USCF southwest office was formally established. Everyone felt happy at that moment.

The USCF southwest office was established in Chongqing, which meant a new life to USCF. Meanwhile, it became the fifth office of USCF in China after Beijing, Shenyang, Hong Kong and Shanghai.

The old saying goes well, no pain in spring, no gain in autumn. We believe that the seed sowed today will reap harvest in autumn.
