------Top ten models of 2005 China Model Contest Final made their debut

January 3,2006 was an exciting, day which was worth being remembered. 2005 China Model Contest Final, which is at national level, more professional, was held successfully in Kaiping City, a beautiful city in Guangdong Province. The models brought new blood into China’s model community. These model stars leading the future of China’s Model industry appeared in China’s catwalk.

This model contest was co-organized by US-China Foundation; L’ OFFICIEL Magazine, a China-France joint venture, and China Development and Promotion Association; sponsored by Hong Kong Chaoyang Company Limited. After more than one year’s planning, preparation, eliminating contest, intermediate contest, regional contest and other related successful campaigns, with the help and support from the people in all walks of society, this contest which was landmark event in China model industry achieved a wonderful successes in the end.

The purpose of this contest was to provide competent talent for industries such as garment; advertisement; model; show business; media and other industries through organizing international-level model contests, extending volume of China model market, developing creativity of model culture. At the same time, this contest stimulated further the economy locally and nationally. Most importantly, this contest would established model industry in the China’s economy; set up a better image for Chinese models in the world’s model community; provide a basis for exchange and cooperation between domestic model industry and international model industry; open a better access for China’s model industry entry into international model market. The goal of this contest was to develop a special, Chinese model culture; draw and collect valuable experiences from the latest development of domestic and international model industry and through organizing model contests; cultivate the soil for a civilized domestic culture and create a special, festival atmosphere of Chinese model contest.

Larry Lee, president of USCF and executive director of organizing committee of this contest and Dai Tong De, Assistant to president of USCF invested most of their time into the work of organizing the final contest in the early November. Because of the size of this contest; the significance of future, Chinese fashion culture integrating into international fashion culture, the purpose of Larry’s participation was to administer the work of this contest as a whole; bring advanced, international-level management skills into the organizing committee. In order to guarantee the transparency, fairness and justness of this contest, Larry and other members of this organizing committee invited several well-known professionals to act as the jury. Song Ding Yuan, Chief Representative of Shanghai Office of USCF also participated in throughout this contest.

The jury of this contest included Zhou Chang Qing, head of the jury, Tang Min Yi, chairman of Guangdong Fashion Association, Wang Yi Ming, well-known model instructor and top male model in China, Gong Hai Bin, head of an advertisement company, Miss Wang Ming, well-known, top model in China, Ma Wei Ming, vice chairman of Hong Kong Fashion Designer Association, Zhu Shi Rong, chairman of Hong Kong Photographer Association.

Through jury’s continuing efforts, under the strict regulations and on the basis of transparency, fairness and justness, top contestants won out of several tens of contestants entering the final contest. The top three models were the first-prize winner Zheng Fang Yuan, the second- prize winner Xu Xin Ting, the thirst-prize winner Lin Fang Ru; the top ten models were Zheng Fang Yuan, Xu Xin Ting, Lin Fang Ru, Yu Xiao Na, Wang Yu Si, Nan Fang, Chen Guan Xioayue, Liu Si Tong, Wang Yu Wei, Sun Yun Long and they gained the designation of China Model for the first time in China; the best looking prize went to Miss Sun Rong Long; the most vitality prize went to Miss Xiong Yong Qing; the most welcomed prize went to Miss Li Si Jing; the most beautiful figure prize went to Miss Zheng Fang Yuan; the best performing prize went to Miss Lin Fang Ru; other 20 models gaining better model prize. The appearance of these models showed that the quality of China’s models increased further. They would become a new force competing on the international model stage and a leading team in China’s model industry.

The 2005 China Model Contest concluded. The organizing committee of this contest would utilize all resources from society to continue to play an important role in promoting China’s model culture, aim at establishing a world -known brand for China’s models.

We are confident that next China Model Contest would be more brilliant!
