News Letter of USCF for May 2011

During middle May, 2011, USCF President Larry Lee flew to Shanghai and began their official business visit there. During his stay in Shanghai, President Lee met with local USCF clients and friends. The head of USCF Shanghai Office came to see President Lee. USCF senior advisor, former US Consul Genral Jarrett had a pleasant talk with President Lee. During the meeting, Mr. Jarrett said he would like to support and join the delegation from the US to mark the 40th anniversary of non-governmental dilpomacy between China and the US to be hosted by USCF in August. Mr. Jarrett hoped USCF could hold more activities in Shanghai.

After their visit to Shanghai, President Lee and his team flew to Lushan in Jiangxi Province. Local official in charge of finance met with President Lee.


On May 26, President Lee and his special assistants Hao Yunqi and Jia Lu came to see Lieutenant General Shao Huaze, a well-known calligrapher, the honorary chairman of China News Photography Association, former chief editor of the People’s Daily, former chairman of China National Journalists Association, Dean of the School of News and Media within Peking University. Mr. Shao gave high praise to the collection of calligraphy and paintings, ‘the Splendid China in 2012-the collection of contemperary calligraphy and paintings’ conceived and planned by USCF and to be published by the People’s Literature Press. Mr. Shao heartily accepted the invitaion to act as the senior advisor of this collection and made his inscription for this program.

On the afternoon of May 29, 2011, President Lee and his special assistant Jia Lu met with Mr. Ouyang Zhongshi, a well-known calligrapher, Professor of Peking University of Education, Instructor for Doctorate and Post-Doctorate, the head of the Research Institute of Chinese Calligraphy and Paintings, member of Chinese People’s Political Consulative Conference, advisor of Chinese Calligraphers Assication, Director Member of the Research Institute of Chinese Paintings. During the meeting, President Lee and Mr. Ouynag had a pleasant discussion on ‘the Splendid China in 2012-the collection of contemperary calligraphy and paintings’ conceived and planned by USCF. Mr. Ouyang gave his approval and support for this program and made his inscription and the preface for this collection. Mr. Ouyang also heartily accepted the invitation to be the senior advisor of this program.
