On 17th September, the President of the USCF Mr.Lee and his Chinese delegation participated in the commemorative activity of Flying Tiger(formally known as American Volunteer Group) in the Chinese Embassy in Washington. It was an activity meant to memorize the Sino-US friendship in the joint anti-Japanese war. The participants include China’s General Zhang Donghui, the Chairman of USCF Qi Chunxue and other 4 prestigious Chinese entrepreneurs, the delegation visited the head of Flying Tiger Foundation General Whitehead and Ms.Chen Xiangmei, the wife of Claire Lee Chennault ( the former chief commander of Flying Tiger) in Washington. Mr.Lee on behalf of the USCF gave Ms. Chen Xiangmei a 4 chi sized Chinese painting of peony drawn by Liu Hongfang, a famous female painter in China, who is endowed with the title of “Queen of Chinese peony”. The Senior advisors of USCF in America Michael Bianco and Leonard Chaikind both made special trips from different cities to join this grand meeting.
On 20th September Mr.Edward Cox ( the Chairman of USCF’s Advisory Committee, former President Nixon’s son-in-law and the Chairman of Republican Party in New York State ) offered a grand banquet to Mr. Lee and the USCF delegation in the famous Union League Club located in Manhattan, New York city. During the dinner, both sides rejoiced in the talks about China-America friendship of decades of years and exchanged their idea about USCF’s work in the US.
On 25th September The delegation flied to Canada, and the Chinese ambassador in Canada Mr.Fang Li gave a banquet to the USCF delegation. Old friends and new acquaintances both enjoyed the joy of gathering.
On 28th September Chairman Lee of USCF and his delegation visited the mayor of San Francisco Edwin Mah Lee in this coastal city. The mayor kindly gave gift to every member of the USCF delegation, and Mr.Lee on behalf of the delegation also gave the Mayor a gift of Chinese characteristics.
On the next day, the mayor’s wife Anita Lee gave the delegation a special banquet in the famous San Francisco Down Town Hilton hotel. Both sides had a cordial talk about the Sino-America bilateral cooperation and have reached further consensus on future cooperation between China and San Francisco.
