My name is Carolyn Nicely. I am a young American singer in Orlando, Florida. I hope that my letter from the faraway USA finds you well and happy! 

You visited the US several times. I read and watched many reports and interviews about you on TV, and I admire your profound ideology ‘The Harmonious World’. During your visit to the White House in the beginning of this year, you mentioned to US President Barack Obama that the development of the Sino-US relations needs new thoughts, new actions, and new circumstances. I fully agree with your views on the Sino-US relations. 

Today I write to you to express a wish, and I hope to receive your understanding and assistance. Recently I happened to hear a new song entitled ‘Love at the Same Planet’ originally created in China. I am deeply moved by its profound meaning and pleasant melody. I feel the lyrics of this song fit very well with your ideology, ‘The Harmonious World,’ which reflects the wishes of all human beings. At the same time, this song’s flowing music inspires me with hope. A splendid picture of thousands of years of Chinese culture unfolds in front of me while I am listening to this song. The song also paints a picture of the world’s civilization in the 21st century and makes people look ahead to a bright future and to all human beings living in harmony. Honestly, this is the most moving song I have ever heard! 

I listened to this song on the blog of Chinese soprano Julia Zhu. I think that this song could be a valuable present with which Chinese people could offer the people all over the world for the New Year! Therefore, I would like to sing this song together with Ms. Julia Jiali for the people on this Earth. I believe that this song could help the seven billion people in the world appreciate the philosophy behind the concepts ‘harmony’ and ‘togetherness’ from China, a country with 5000 years of history. 

I have learnt that the Chinese Spring Festival Gala on China Central Television is a very influential musical event. If I could have the opportunity to sing this song: ‘Love at the Same Planet’ with Ms. Julia Zhu at the Chinese Spring Festival Gala of the Year of Dragon, then this song will become a movement of harmony, peace, and happiness!

If you could help me to make my wish come true, it will be not only be the greatest honor in my life, but will also be the most wonderful thing for a harmonious world. :-)
