The Shenyang City in June was full of greeness and fragrances of trees and flowers. The concert hosted by USCF at the Liaoning multi-purpose gynasium near the Shenyang Olympic Center, just lowered its curtain. The musical party ‘Shenyang International Musial Night’, hosted by USCF, rose its curtain the following day at the Shenyang Wanxin Hotel. This concert was co-hosted by USCF, Chinese Artists Village; co-organized by Liaoning Artists Association; specially-supported by Liaoning Culture Commision, co-sponsored by Sino- US Culture and Entertianment Group and USCF Shenyang Office, presented by Miss Zhang Zaiyang from ‘Fashion’ Group and Mr. Liu Hongjun from Shenyang TV Station.
At 5 pm, June 11, the up-scale, quality musical party ‘Shenyang International Musial Night’, planned and organized by USCF, was offcially held to mark the 100th anniversary of Xihai Revolution, the 90th anniversary of the founding of Chinese Commuist Party and the 40th anniversary of the non-governmental diplomacy between China and the US. We not only invited well-known Chinese soprano Julia Zhu, Zhang Shuai and Xiao Shiyi, etc, new singers, but also invited Sofia Nizharadze- European lyric singer who sang at the award ceremony of Festival De Cannes and she was the most popular singer at this ceremony, and the American lyric tenor Justin Vickers with “beautiful, crystalline tone”. Through this concert, USCF expressed its deep graditude and respect to Xinhai Revolution and Chinese Communist Party, its firm beliefs in engaging in developing non-governmental exchange between China and the US. In addition, the particaption of local artists and calligraphers made this musical event more exceptional. This musical party, using culture and arts as a flatform, made audience have an opportunity to refelct on the past and look ahead to the future of Shenyang, and perceive the beauty of cultural Shenyang, tastful Shenyang, creative Shenyang and fashionable Shenyang!
The participants of this musical event included government offcials, business leaders, celebrities and froeign friends. Mr. Wang Fengbo, Director of Culture and Media Dpartment of Shenyang Chinese Communist Party Commision, Mr. Guo Xingwen, Chairman of Liaoning Culture and Art Commision, and Mr. Hua Jinzhou, senior advisor of USCF and former Chinese Consul General in Houston attended this event and gave their speeches repspectively. Mr. De Chong, well-known calligrapher personally presented us with his calligraphy ‘The Moonlight at Sea’ written in Chinese characters and Meman characters; Mr. Wang Shanli, well-known calligrapher, specially sent his caligraphy ‘The Unlimited Love’ from Beijing to Shenyang, and well-known painter Mr. Song Yugui was also present. The audience and media gave a high praise to this musical event and what we have done in the exchange between China and the US. They would play an active part in developing Shenyang and boosting the exchange between China and foreign countries.
This musical event not only offered us the charm of traditional culture, but also enhanced the integration, raised the profile of USCF, and more importantly brought the cultural exchange between China and the US to a higher level. With more and more people’s involvement and great support from all walks of society, USCF will definitely have a brighter tomorrow, China will definitely have brighter future, and the tree of Sino-US friendship will grow much more healthily!
