USCF President sent the letter to US Secretary of Commerce Gary Locke for congratulating him to be the US Ambassador to China

US Secretary of Commerce Gary Locke has been nominated by US President Obama to be the first Chinese American Ambassador to China, and the current cabinet member to fill the post since Sino-US diplomatic relations have been established for more than 30 years. Recently, USCF President Larry Lee sent the letter to US Secretary of Commerce Gary Locke for congratulating him to be the US Ambassador to China . It is reported that Mr. Gary Locke will arrive in Beijing in early April to officially act as the US Ambassador to China . 


Profile of Mr. Gary Locke: Mr. Gary Locke, aged 61 now, was born in Seattle , Washington , the third generation of Chinese American. His grandfather, whose hometown is Taishan in Guangdong Province , was the descendant of King Luobin, one of ‘Four Heroes of Early Tang Dynasty’, immigrated to the US at the beginning of 19th century. Mr. Gary Locke studied at University of Yelu and Boston of University respectively. 

In 1982, Mr. Gary Locke acted as the Congressman of Washington State, and acted as the first Chinese American Governor of Washington State in 1996, filled this post after 4 years. He was appointed by President Obama as the first Chinese American US Secretary of Commerce in the US history, and the third Chinese American Secretary of Commerce after former Chinese American Secretary of Labor Zhao Xiaolan, Secretary of Energy Zhu Diwen.
