A Harmonious Global Convention - A series of events, created and organized by the US-China Foundation (USCF), will be held at Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall, from October 3 – October 5, 2009 in celebration of Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival and the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the United States.

To mark this important anniversary, the USCF is organizing a series of events, including: 2009 Annual Session of US-China Forum---Chinese and US Entrepreneurs Summit, a Sino-US Friendship Outstanding Contribution Award Ceremony, and a musical concert with the theme “Farewell Mood in New York City”, with lyrics by former Chinese Foreign Minister and outstanding poet, Mr. Li Zhaoxing. The concert will feature top Chinese and American singers and musicians who will perform together in the spirit of Sino-US friendship. China’s renowned calligraphers and painters will also be featured in the painting and calligraphy exhibition. These events will all take place at Lincoln Center, one of the world’s leading performing arts centers.

It bears reminding that October 3, 2009 is Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival and also marks the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, a very auspicious date for the events. Chinese and American friends will have the opportunity to come together to gaze at the full moon, discuss the opinions and views presented during the forum, listen to beautiful music performed by both America and Chinese artists, and enjoy the traditional Chinese calligraphy and painting. The Sino-US Friendship Outstanding Contribution Award ceremony will be held along with the series of events. These important social gatherings will be beautiful, exciting celebrations of friendship and harmony and will further strengthen the ties between the US and China. They will go down in history as an important milestone in the history of Sino-US relations.
